Valentine’s Day surprise

Bell Manor students Manuel and Yulissa delivered handmade Valentine's Day cards to Texas Health HEB patients. Students at the school made the cards.

Patients in the hospital at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford got a Valentine’s Day surprise from local school children.

Sixth grade students at Bell Manor Elementary made about 150 cards for Texas Health HEB patients. The students delivered a few to patients a couple of days early because mock TAKS testing started at school today. Hospital employees are delivering the remainder, and well wishes from the students and the hospital employees, today.

Patients were excited to receive the cards and made comments like “This really brightened my day” and the card “is exactly what I needed today.”

And it wasn’t just the patients that gained something from the experience. “This has been so great,” said Manuel, one of the students. “Nothing can ruin this day for me.”

Texas Health HEB partners with Bell Manor through the Adopt-a-School program.
